Senior Accountant

Our client, a leading company in the General Trading sector, is seeking a qualified Senior Accountant to fill this position and play a vital role in the company’s overall success.
Location
Baghdad - Karrada
Working time
8:00 AM - 4:00 PM / 6 days a week
Salary range
1,500,000 - 2,000,000 IQD

Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the accounting team, ensuring accurate execution of daily accounting activities and task allocation
- Prepare, review, and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with accounting standards
- Manage general ledger operations, including reconciliations of bank accounts, intercompany balances, and key accounts
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely processing, collections, and reconciliations
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities, including variance analysis and performance tracking against budgets
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or equivalent certification is an advantage)
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Experience with ERP systems (mandatory), SAP experience preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities
